MOHAMED METWALLY

CEO & Managing Director

With more than 28 years of investment banking experience, Mr. Metwally has been appointed by NI Capital’s Board on August 1st, 2019; to lead NI Capital as its Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer.

Mr. Metwally has taken over the transformation of the company’s business strategy in line with the Government’s vision and its new business model of having a publicly owned company privately managed by leading experts.

Prior to joining NI Capital, Mr. Metwally held the position of Deputy CEO at HC Securities & Investment since 2012. Before that he was the Managing Director & CEO of Siraj Finance, a mortgage finance company based in Abu Dhabi. Mr. Metwally had previously held the positions of the Regional Head of Middle East Investment Banking at Salomon Brothers (London), and subsequently Merrill Lynch (London), and Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC based in Dubai. Mr. Metwally’s investment banking transaction experience spans a wide range of sectors and products including M&A advisory, equity and debt capital markets transactions, and leveraged finance. Mr. Metwally started his career on Wall Street as a real estate equity research analyst at Salomon Brothers New York.

Mr. Metwally earned his MBA at Columbia Business School, New York (USA) where he was awarded the Merit Fellowship, and later received Executive Leadership training at INSEAD (France) and London Business School (United Kingdom).

Prior to joining the investment banking industry, Mr. Metwally was a Registered Architect in the State of New York (1985-1993.)  He holds a BA in Architecture from Pratt Institute (New York) and BSc in Architectural Engineering from Cairo University (Egypt).

Mr. Metwally is also the non-executive chairman of Tamweely Microfinance Company, a non-executive board member of Ayady Holding, Egypt Ventures, EBE Factoring, Ayady Misr for Industrial Development, Ergo Media Ventures. Mr. Metwally had previously served on the Boards of several institutions including Egyptians Abroad Investment Company (ODEN), HC Brokerage Company, HC Investment Bank DIFC, the International Advisory Board of Cairo Stock Exchange, Addax Bank, Siraj Finance Company, Alkine Benzene E-LAB company, and Fajr Gas Pipeline Company.

HAZEM KAMEL

Managing Director - Private Equity

Mr. Hazem Kamel joined NI Capital as the Managing Director of Private Equity, bringing with him approximately 20 years of corporate experience in various Investment management activities in Egypt as well as the wider MENA region.

Prior to joining NI Capital, Mr. Kamel was the Chairman and Managing Director of Naeem Financial Investments (the Asset Management arm of Naeem Holding, one of the largest growing investment banks in the MENA region) with a mandate to drive the strategy and daily operations in both Egypt and UAE.  Prior to that, Mr. Kamel headed Naeem’s Investment Unit where he was responsible for growing the AUM in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from USD0.5bn to USD3.1bn, as well as running the operations of the Investment Management Division.

Mr. Kamel began his career at Prime Holding in 1997 and acquired extensive financial expertise from various positions within the organization. He also served as a member of the Investment Committee of the Mediterranean Fund managed by Rothschild Asset Management and co-managed by Prime.

Mr. Kamel holds MBA from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands, Executive Education in Private Equity from Oxford University and BSc in Accounting, English section from Ain Shams University, Egypt. He serves on several boards, including Enmaa for leasing, Tamweely for Micro Finance, Ayady Misr for Industrial Development and Ayady Facility Management.

Mohamed El Sherbiny

Managing Director – Asset Management Fixed Income

Mohamed Elsherbiny joined NI Capital in April 2019 and currently serves as the Managing Director for fixed income. He has almost two decades of diverse experience in both commercial and investment banks. Before his current role, Elsherbiny held various leadership positions, including Chairman and Managing Director of Cairo National Company for Investment and Securities, as well as board member at National Glass Company and Alexandria National Company for Investment and Securities. He was also previously Head of Capital Market at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Egypt in the investment and private banking group.

From 2010, Elsherbiny managed fixed income portfolios at CI Capital Holding, achieving the highest risk-adjusted return among peers for institutional portfolios for banks, insurance companies, and governmental institutions. He was also a member of the investment committee.

Elsherbiny started his career at Commercial International Bank, Egypt (CIB), and worked in various roles, including the US Embassy unit and strategic relations group, and senior trader global market treasury & capital market group. He obtained his ACI dealing certificate and attended several training courses with UBS London and Credit Suisse Zurich. He is also a certified Islamic fund manager and certified Islamic finance executive. In 2007, he obtained his credit course from the American Banker Association & Arab Academy Banking and Financial Science. He obtained his certificate in quantitative finance from Stanford Center for Professional Development, Stanford University in 2016.

Hassan Samir Farid

Managing Director

Hassan Samir Farid is one of the most senior executives in the Egyptian capital market, with 30 years of accumulated expertise in investment, finance, and wealth management, catering to local, Arab, and foreign institutional and private clients. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science (1995) and completed specialized diplomas and training in investment and corporate management at the American University in Cairo (AUC) and the London School of Economics (LSE).

Vice Chairman of the Board, CEO, and Managing Director of Prime Holding for Financial Investments (2023 – 2024).
Vice Chairman of the Board of Prime Securities Brokerage and Prime Capital (2023 – 2024).

Major Achievements:

Mr. Farid is credited with leading the restructuring of the EGX-listed Prime Holding for Financial Investments, returning the company to profitability in 2023 following four consecutive years of accumulated losses. This turnaround earned recognition from Alam Elmal (March 2024) and Amwal El Ghad (June 2024).

He successfully led the valuation and execution of over 50 market transactions. Highlights include:

Acquisition offers for the Egyptian Starch and Glucose Manufacturing Company, and Alexandria Medical Services.
Valuation and implementation of the delisting processes for National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank – Egypt shares.
Execution of the first foreign bank acquisition of Egyptian assets collateralized by a foreign client under the new Central Bank of Egypt law.
