Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director

Ashraf Ghazaly is a senior investment banking expert, with a proven track record and wealth of knowledge in corporate finance, including the management of IPOs, Private Placements and Mergers & Acquisitions. He joined NI Capital in 2015, bringing in over 20 years of capital markets leadership, transaction expertise and executive management experience.

As CEO and Managing Director of NI Capital, Ghazaly is overseeing the firm’s IPO program, aimed at reinvigorating capital markets and channeling FDI’s into the country through the rigorous selection and listing of promising state-owned entities. During his tenure at NI Capital, Ghazaly has advised the Ministerial Economic Committee towards the commencement of two cornerstone reform projects: i) Egypt’s first Sovereign Wealth Fund; and ii) the restructuring for one of the largest public-sector bank in Egypt worth EGP 350bn (USD38bn pre-currency liberalization). He has played a prominent role in bridging the gap between public and private institutions, leveraging the firm’s unique global network to promote private participation and enhance the performance and profitability of these public assets, with the goal of enabling economic growth.

Since joining NI Capital, Ghazaly also managed the firm’s EGP1.3 bn  private equity investment fund, including EGP 700 million for Ayady for Investment and Development, partnering with private sector investors to create job opportunities across key industries, including Agriculture, Tourism, Financial Services, Industrial and Media.

Prior to joining NI Capital, Ghazaly was the CIO of Palm Hills Developments Co. (PHD), a leading real estate developer, listed on the Egyptian Stock Exchange and London Stock Exchange, with an extensive portfolio spanning different development stages nationwide and one of the largest land banks in the country. At PHD, Ghazaly managed the performance of local and global assets, fundraising and partnerships, and advised the Board of Directors on strategy and growth opportunities.

Prior to PHD, Ghazaly was the Deputy Managing Director of Fleming CIIC Investment Securities (now EFGHermes after merger). He was engaged in the execution of an extensive array of transactions, consisting of domestic and cross-border privatizations, besides equity and fixed-income securities’ issuances. His responsibilities encompassed public and private placements, institutional equity sales and trading, fixed income trading and equity coverage.

Ghazaly received his postgraduate degree in Corporate Finance from London Business School (LBS), and an MBA and a Bachelor of Science from California State University in 1998. He serves on the Boards and investment committees of several firms in Egypt. He currently serves on the Boards and investment committees of various companies, including the Nile Radio Production Company, Ayady for Investment and Development, Ayady Misr for Industrial Development, Damietta City Furniture Company, Enmaa Leasing Company, Egypt Ventures, Egyptian Rural Development Company and Tamweely for Micro Finance.


Managing Director – Investment Banking

Ihab Swellem joined NI Capital in 2017 as Managing Director of Investment Banking. He brings 25 years of experience in commercial banking, investment banking, treasury and project finance in large financial and blue-chip corporations. He has executed complex mandates in Egypt, the GCC and Algeria, in addition to several cross-border transactions in Europe and the MENA region.

Prior to joining NI Capital, Swellam was the Vice President of Corporate Finance and Advisor to the Chairman at MMID Group, an investment company owned by both the Mansour Group and the Maghraby Group. MMID has been particularly active in Egypt’s financial sector, owning equity in several investment banking and insurance firms.

Swellam has extensive experience with leading Egyptian based blue-chip companies. He served as CFO of Palm Hills Developments Co. (PHD), a leading real estate developer with an expansive portfolio spanning different development stages nationwide and one of the largest land banks in the country. Additionally, Mr. Swellem held several positions – in both Egypt and overseas – at Orascom Telecom SAE.

Swellem holds a Masters in Business Administration from Maastricht School of Business, Netherlands and a Bachelor of Accountancy from Cairo University, Egypt.


Managing Director - Private Equity

Hazem Kamel joined NI Capital as the Managing Director of Private Equity, bringing with him approximately 20 years of corporate experience in various Investment management activities in Egypt as well as the wider MENA region.

Prior to joining NI Capital, Kamel was the Chairman and Managing Director of Naeem Financial Investments (the Asset Management arm of Naeem Holding, one of the largest growing investment banks in the MENA region) with a mandate to drive the strategy and daily operations in both Egypt and UAE.  Prior to that, Kamel headed Naeem’s Investment Unit where he was responsible for growing the AUM in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from USD0.5bn to USD3.1bn, as well as running the operations of the Investment Management Division.

Kamel began his career at Prime Holding in 1997 and acquired extensive financial expertise from various positions within the organization. He also served as a member of the Investment Committee of the Mediterranean Fund managed by Rothschild Asset Management and co-managed by Prime.

Kamel holds MBA from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands, Executive Education in Private Equity from Oxford University and BSc in Accounting, English section from Ain Shams University, Egypt. Hazem serves on several boards, including Enmaa for leasing, Tamweely for Micro Finance, Ayady Misr for Industrial Development and Ayady Facility Management.


Chairman of NI Consulting Company

Tarek Mansour is a finance professional with over 35 years of experience in auditing, corporate finance and management consulting.

Mansour joined NI Consulting as Chairman in 2018, having retired from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in 2017. Mansour is also currently a board member and head of the Investment Committee at Misr Asset Management (MAM), a subsidiary of Misr Insurance Holding Company.

Prior to that, Mansour began his career as an auditor at PwC in 1980, before moving on to advisory services which included M&A, financial and management consulting in both US and Egypt. Mansour later became a partner in 1995 at PwC and senior partner in 2000. He also served as a finance and strategy advisor to the Government of Egypt during the late 90s and early 2000s. By 2012, Mansour had served for two four-year terms as a board member of PwC Middle East, and was appointed nonexecutive Chairman of PwC Egypt in 2016.

Mansour was also a member of the Egyptian Insurance Supervisory Authority (EISA) in 2002-2008, and served as a board member of Egyptian National Investment Bank (NIB) during 2007-2014.

Mansour holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo and is a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
